First get the carbons and hydrogens balanced by puting a 2 in front of CO2 and a 3 in front of H2O:
This gives C2H6 + O2 ---> 2CO2 + 3H2O
Then you notice the only thing unbalanced is oxygen. You need 7 equivs. of oxgen so put 3.5 (or 7/2) in front of the oxygen giving:
C2H6 + 7/2O2 ---> 2CO2 + 3H2O
Note that some teachers dont like to see fractions for balancing equations (but this is usually done after school) so they might want the following by multiplying by 2:
2C2H6 + 7O2 ---> 4CO2 + 6H2O

2C2H6+7O2->4CO2+6H2O
C=2=4 C=1=4
H=6=12 H=2=12
O=2=14 O=3=14

next time send something easier!

It's hard to explain it on the internet. If you have 4 O's, then you need 4 on the other side. Example: 4O + C---> O2 + C would change to 40 + C ----> 2 O2 + C. If you need more help, I'd suggest asking your teacher. =)

At a wager: TiO2 + 2C + 2Cl2 --> TiCl4 + 2CO C is a sturdy, Cl2 a gas (i think of) and CO is definately a gas. No clue approximately the different 2. Why no longer seem it up? you ought to have information tables or some thing.

you need to have the same amount of C's, H's, and O's.... remember that this is a single replacement. does that help?
