I play clarinet for marching band, symphonic band and piano for jazz band. the best way to memorize music is to go through the music by each system( line of music...like 8 measures). play those measures several times and then play without looking at the music. if you forgot a part, look at the music again, play it a couple of times and then try to play it by memory again. most likely the song repeats itself so it shouldnt be so hard. its also good to hum the song throughout the day that way you can remeber your part.

I am in marching band right now and the best way is to just practice a lot. I am Section Leader at my Hs and we had sectionals 2 times a week for 2 hours each and that got all of us to have our music memorized by the start of band camp.

Break it up into smaller parts and practice on those parts each day. When you learn each part separately. Try to put them together to make the whole song. That is what I did. It worked for me and I was in marching band for 6 years.

Play a small section at the beginning, such as 8 bars or so. Just play that over and over until you think you got it. Once you've got that down, move on and take another chunk. It just gets easier to memorize it the more you play it. That works for me, but it might not for you. Try to find a way that works best for you.

You know, they have those little music holders that attach to your instrument so you can see the music while marching untill you memorize it or just cheat and use the little holder. It's pretty tiny so it's not too noticible (unless your conductor doesn't allow it).

Practice! It will eventually come naturally and you will not need the music sheet.

Play it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

I think you get the point.
