I was wondering how long it would take for a Steve Irwin question to pop up. I think that a lot of people demonstrate the same courage and fearlessness in their professions as Steve Irwin did even though they are not wrestling with giant reptiles and deadly creatures. What Steve Irwin did was more spectacular to watch.
As to your exact question, I do not believe that I would choose to tackle crocs but I have handled snakes and I do want to swim with sharks (I accidently encountered one when spear fishing once, very exciting) in a controlled environment. As to seals and whales, I reckon that would be absolutely awsome.
Steve Irwin will be missed by many people. Spare a thought for all of the children who finally had a charasmatic, exciting role model and hero that was in a stable relationship, loved his children and his wife, had a great passion for his job and environment and was unaffected by his fame. They have lost all of that, who is there to replace that void? No one comes to mind which is perhaps even sadder than Steve Irwins passing itself.

First, no, I couldn't do it. Second, what does his dying "not being in vain" have to do with his death being "quick, painless, and peaceful?" Third, how do you know it was painless and peaceful? I would think that if he for a nanosecond thought of his wife and young children before he died, it wouldn't have been peaceful.

I wouldn't say his death was painless. They say a stingray's death is the worse pain you can ever have.
Steve will be missed that's for sure. I could never work like he did. I am too scared of snakes.

no, i wouldn't. i charish my life too much and don't seek that much of a thrill and rush in life like what he did. he did die in vain and it was painFUL, slow and certainly not peaceful. he got stung by a sting ray. that is MOST likely to hurt. i mean, the animal uses it to keep it's predators away so ofcourse it's sing would hurt.

NO! He was a brave intelligent man. I don't think anyone can ever do what he was capable of doing. May his soul rest in peace.

why the HELL would i want to??
his "death was not in vain"?
maybe.
his death was unneccessary?
certainly. i hope that his children grow up comforted by his stacks of cash, as they won't have a father to hold them or tell them that he loves them.
his death was selfish?
no doubt. any MAN would have realized that his place was to take care of his family, not be out putzing around, annoying wild animals like a moron.
period.

We can do anything we want to, if we are crazy enough.
But what he did was a special kind of crazy, not like a regular crazy like me.
