I applied for a position in a computer company 9 months ago. This position was introduced to me by my friend and his mother. The boss offered me a sales position, and I turned down the offer indirectly. After three weeks, I wanted to get the job back, and went to see the boss. The boss was busy, and I talked to her subordinate. But, the subordinate did not call me back. I did not know whether the boss was still interested or not. And I did not talk to the boss thereafter. Now, after 9 months, I am still interested with the company. Should I call the boss and apply again? What should I do?

What should I say? Do you think I should talk to my friend first or talk to the boss right away and directly? I am really lost...

Yes, go ahead and contact her.

Tell her it's been a while now and that you'd like to be considered for the position if it's still available.

Yes, by all means. No guts, no glory. However, the sales position was probably already filled and is why she is not contacting you. Her take on the situation may be, you had your chance and blew it and some companies like that do not have open spots for sales in other words, when they have the salespeople they want, no more hiring, especially if they pay salary and commission.

Talk to the friend first and see what you can find out. If you talk to the boss, tell her that you regret your previous turn down, and after learning more about her fine company, you decided it and you would be a good match.

The lesson you should have learned from this is to never do such things by an indirect route - make sure you talk to the right person about anything as important as a job. Yes, call the boss, and if you don't get her then try again. For all kinds of reasons, messages don't work in these sorts of situations. You need to make direct contact.

yes but i think instead of calling you should go and meet.remember to introduce your self and let the boss know that he was already offered the job to you but you cannot take it for so and so reason and asked weather that possition is still available if not any other equivalant positon available for you or maye be in the future. give it a try
