Why is it? and why is the preppy fad so in there?

I live in Windsor, Ontario...about 20 minutes from Detroit and the fashions here are pretty much the same as in Florida (in the summer at least)...Girls still wear short shorts and skirts, and flip flops and tank tops, and they will do so through September and part of October. That's just the way fashion is around here.

I'm from Michigan and I agree with you for the most part. Everyone dresses very preppy. I always wear heels and would get made fun of for the lack of flip flops in my wardrobe. I have no idea why it is. It's cold there most of the time and people like to dress "beachy".
