Because we are not meant to be lazy. Work gives us a sense of purpose and pride. We should be grateful that we can use our hands and have all that God has given us - to use for His glory.

1. To make sure money always comes in. Economic times may be hard and so we need money. The main source for it is work.

2. They just love doing the thing they are working at. People have fun regardless of the pay but know that since they are good at it and love it, working on a particular something for most of their lives is probably going to be worth it.

Unless you are a member of a rich family that will provide the money for you to play all your life what would you suggest.
You can follow the grasshopper (play all day) approach as opposed to the ant's (work all day) but when winter arrives you'll learn the real reason.
You work because the world does NOT owe you a living.

Because that is what societ is. We are all trapped in the Rat Race. Well the working class is trapped in the rat race. Not the rich and powerful. George Bush, Brad Pitt, there not in the rat race.

If you born with a silver spoon, you don't have to worry about working, look at Paris Hilton.

True, but to what degree do you call "working"? I know that it is work to run a household, but to me, real work is those people who work 8-5 everyday in offices, never getting a break, or the guy who is out there in the hot sun laboring...that, to me, is real work. We do it because we have to. I would not work a day in my life if I had enough money to survive. I would spend my days reading the Bible, learning more about religion, taking classes at my leisure, going to the gym, getting massages and my nails done, etc, etc... I would not run out of things to do.

This is the HUMAN WAY, or the American Way. Person who work find themselves wanting and needing things, Unless you were born into money one may not have to work, But even rich persons still work to keep from ever becoming poor, the poor work so that they have hope of not ever becoming poor again. It is a cycle of LIFE. THANKS THE WORKING ALWAYS NEVER GETTING TIME OFF FOR SELF MOM. Have a GOOD weekend.

Our culture doesn't support not working. You have to work to be able to get food and other basic necessities. It works like that even in primitive cultures.
