No I didn't know that Yahoo Answers disrupts its own community by not permitting freedom of speech?
Are you speaking of something which can be written without violating the Community Conformity Regulations? If so, I'd like to know more about your complaint in as much detail as possible.
I also wonder how to interpret the freedom of speech when the Internet is so vast and indis-criminate as to whom might be reading what another has written. It isn't exactly a magazine rack though once can read magazines on the net. They aren't abridging any freedoms under color of law that I've heard of like a state or county or provincial government or canton might.
They are able to put people together from so many different countries, and cultures that might not easily mix do so in cyber-land, but there isn't any one location so the doctrine of lex loci would be difficult to apply (the law of the place) e.g. your place, their place or somewhere else where the information passed through on its way to me them or you.
Any who or how or way I'm curious about what you wrote so please do give me a response, if they will let you! Or should I have said "if it will let you"? I just don't know. But I bet you've got a good idea about all this, right?

The very fact that there has been one single miserable answer to this motivated query--and that too just a bald statement not supported by any concrete instance--shows that this is not true. I for one at least dring my association with Yahoo Answers did not have any such experience. I could shout my mouth off and yet there was not even a mild protest. In fact I had come across some questions which should not have been allowed but there was apparently no attempt to cross them out.And if the answers does have the effect of disrupting the community perhaps the community deserves to be disrupted. It is standing on loose soil. The foundations of such a society have to be shaken from the roots. If that is what meant by disruption it is welcome.

No No No , I think Yahoo Answers is far from limiting Freedom Of Speech in fact the essence of this facility is in fact "Freedom of Speech" unlike Newspapers and Magazine,s who have a very Narrow and Limited attitude and censorship as to what they will Publish. May "Questions and Answers" continue unaltered for a very long time to come

Did you know that Yahoo! Answers is a private forum, not a state-sponsored forum, and therefore 1st Amendment protections don't apply?
Did you know that the only "freedom of speech" you had on Yahoo! Answers is what is permitted by their Terms of Service and other internal policies, which you consented to by using the service?

The good old freedom of Speech. No matter where you go online. You don't seem to get freedom of speech. The only place you will truely find that is if you find the same group of people who truely have the same belief's and view's as you do.
But if you mean as by People cursing i'm glad, not everybody likes to read those words.

If by Freedom of speech you mean racist and sexist remarks, harassment, adult content and slurs, that children of all ages can read on this site, than I cant help but disagree.
And I guess that's what you probably mean, cause answers has never removed an answer of mine that was written with none of the above in.

We all need to be mindful that others do read these answers, and there is a way of stating your disputes and thoughts regarding a particular subject. The answer is we all must exercise discretion, which can still have enough impact to make your point.

You mean the community of people who don't pay to use Yahoo Answers? The community of people who insist on being hateful towards others and posting really unnecessary remarks? The community of people who ought to be out doing more productive things with their lives (myself included, of course)? That community?

Freedom of speech must be balanced with Freedom from harassment. I don't have the right to stand outside your house shouting about what a nasty little man you are, how you like to kick small animals, and how you like to rub your feet with marmite. Individual rights must be balanced with society's rights. Not an easy task, but one that we all play our part in.

Did you know that the First Amendment ensures that the GOVERNMENT will not infringe upon your free speech? Last I heard, Yahoo was not an arm of the government.
