Iraq post-war plan muzzled
Army Brig. Gen. Mark Scheid, an early planner of the war, tells about challenges of invasion and rebuilding.
BY STEPHANIE HEINATZ
09/08/06 "Daily Press" -- -FORT EUSTIS -- Months before the United States invaded Iraq in 2003, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld forbade military strategists from developing plans for securing a post-war Iraq, the retiring commander of the Army Transportation Corps said Thursday.
In fact, said Brig. Gen. Mark Scheid, Rumsfeld said "he would fire the next person" who talked about the need for a post-war plan.

So what excuse do you have to explain why Rumsfeld did this?

Democrats, why was your administration so busy dropping their pants in the oval office that they didn't have time to respond to the terrorism that was occurring during their occupancy of the White House? Lets see, the first attack on the World Trade center - Slick Willy's response - NOTHING. The attack on the USS Cole - Slick Willy's response - NOTHING.
The attack on the United States on 9/11 was being planned during the Clinton administration. Why didn't he 'plan' (to use your word) that these things were taking place and gather intelligence to stop the attack? ... Oh wait, he was too busy reducing our military to an all time low.
We will pay for the ills of the Clinton administration for quite some time to come. Fasten your seat belt, we are just getting started.

so all they can say is "what did the Democrats do 6 years ago"?
apparently, they have no answer...
I am not a Republican, but the only answer I can offer you is an observation of their actions...
they don't seem to plan very much, just react to situations... they don't seem to have goals as much as a general view of what they want tomorrow to look like... and that's TOMORROW (as in the day after today, not as in the future)... beyond the next few days, they seem to have little plans...
they don't seem to care about what problems their actions may cause... they will deal with those the next day, whatever they may be...
if you apply this line of thought to their actions... some of their decisions start to make sense... even though the thought process leaves much to be desired...

You are quoting a Bowling Green graduate, that was a Reservist replacing a retiring woman to do Operations work. Boy, I bet he sits in on all the big secret meetings. Rumsfield does not need to explain his strategy except to the President.

Strange, I didn't know this is the Republican United States of America.
I voted for Clinton the first election and against him the second, and still considered him my president and the government as mine too even if I didn't vote for him.

As long as we live in the United States of America, we have to deal with the decisons of the leaders we've elected. We are all responsible for our leader's decisions because we are a collective nation.

Republicans won't be in power then,, so they really don't have to worry about the mess they are leaving for the Democrats to have to resolve,,,, Bush has already said,, future administrations will have to deal with the Iraqi people,,,,
