I assume from your question that you do not feel the country is in need of security. Personally, they can tap my phones, read my email, and follow me around if it stops one kid from getting hooked on drugs or prevents one injury from a terrorist.
I also believe that people that object to the current security measures, which are not nearly sufficient, fall into five categories: (1) they actually have something to hide; (2) they are egotistical enough to believe that the government is interested in them personally; (3) they are so idealistic that they'd rather see people hurt or killed as long as they have their ideals; (4) they fall into the old 'better Red then dead' category; and (5) they really aren't in touch with reality.

Are you just as upset over the democrats threaten to take away the broadcasting licenses of NBC's affiliates over a movie?

Bet you just as worried about clinton's "legacy" as they are.
Please list for me the number of successful attacks in the US since 9/11. If you can't, please tell me how monitoring phone calls to known terrorist areas in other countries is legal after several federal judge upheld the legality? Then tell me how this program which was instituted under clinton for the sole purpose of monitoring his political enemies is ok then, but not now.
