Isn't that like feeding the terrorists oil-funded organizations and the Republican party's fear-based politics?

Is say, "Alright, we're a bunch of gluttons, we admit it" letting the terrorist win? Or is it making us even better than we were before?

It doesn't.

Prolonging our dependence on Mideast oil certainly supports terrorism. As to the "fear-based" politics, since that is exactly what you're promoting, I don't see why you think it's a problem.

I think people buy them over the even more bulky mini-van. I've never heard anyone other than this question say anything about Republicans, terrorism, and SUV's in correlation to one another. You may be thinking of the HUMMER which is as big of a gas hog as any large pick-up, Blazer, or any car that is an 8-cylinder.

Then again, I don't drive and consider myself to be a conservative. Gas where I live is damn near over $3.00 per gallon; it would take a gallon of gas to get me to where I work and another gallon to get back home, yet, an all day bus ticket costs $4.00 and a monthly pass costs $74.00.

I sold my car when gas got what I considered to be to high priced, and, I owned a Subaru Outback, which is relatively easy on gas.

I suppose you purchase at the pump that says, "Non-terrorist Gas"?

A guy who drives his SUV once a week uses less than the guy who drives his little Honda every day.

Your question suggests you would favor drilling in ANWAR and other local sources so the terrorists won't get YOUR petro-dollars.

Let's give the Bush Admin some kudos for working with GM, Shell and Chevron to move us to a Hydrogen fuel economy. The first fueling stations have already opened in D.C. and other locations, and the Army has already received hydrogen powered trucks from GM. Now THAT is progress!

Because my suv is a diesel and runs on "waste" ; biodiesel I collect from my local fast food emporiums with which I avoid sending any fuel money to the middle east and manage to pollute less than a typical gas/electric hybrid.

I love my big fat SUV that gets 13 miles per gallon and my sports car that gets 15. Hell I even have a 3rd car that I drive just for pleasure. I also have 4 ATV's that suck down fuel like mad. Have a problem with that? Tough, welcome to the U.S. I can buy whatever I want and not feel guilty. I enjoy my money. I can't take it with me so I might as well enjoy it while I can.

If you wanna fight terrorism I can suggest a great organization that will do more to end terrorism than just raising public awareness. Its called the United States Army! we kill Terrorists every day! Its loads of fun and even idiots like you can get in on it instead of farting around the mall!
