First of all, demand is down due to the summer travel season ending. Addtionally, the election season is approaching, and the Republicans will surely lose if they can't do something about the oil companies gouging record profits and sending the economy into an inflationary spiral the likes of which we haven't seen since the oil embargo of the 1970s, without prices coming down. The fact that any politician can look at oil company profits and say with a straight face that they are not price gouging makes them all fit for Academy Awards.

Never fear. They're just setting us up for $5-$10 a gallon gas, once Bush decides to bomb Iran, and start world war 3. They want to make the shock as big as possible you know.

Because Summer is over and the demand is over. Thus, they timed it so they raised the price when everyone needed to buy more to travel during the summer. They have it all figured out to make the most off of us.

Supply up. Demand down. It happens every fall. It even happened when Clinton was running. It happens in off year elections. It's amazing how many people think the President can give the gas and oil companies a call to have them cut or increase prices. Please. Can we please replace cynicism with common sense?

November elections draw near.....prices drop so that foolish Americans FORGET what the Repubes have done to us for the past few years, then they use scare tactics (I predict we are going to hear about new terror plots being broken up...) to get themselves re-elected.
