Back in 2002 I was looking at the Saga website (they do special rates for the over 50's, and I had just got a good deal with them on my car insurance). A pop-up came up asking if I'd be interested in any of their other services, so I clicked a few. A week later when I got home from work my wife asked me if I'd entered any competitions lately, cos Saga were trying to get in touch with me and would call in about half an hour. I thought maybe I'd won a set of saucepans or some extra discount on my insurance.
When the phone went the lady from Saga introduced herself and then said 'I'm pleased to tell you that you've won a prize in our draw'. Oh yes, sez I, what's that? She said 'You've won a sixteen day all expenses paid holiday to Port Elizabeth in South Africa.' Didn't even know I'd entered a draw filling in the pop-up!
Panic began to set in as neither of us even had passports, and had never flown before!
But it was a legit win...it was the holiday of a lifetime and I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Yes, I used to read this magazine for teens called J-14 and they had a prize giveaway every month. All you had to do was put your name on a postcard and send it in and I actually won one time. The prize they sent me was a dvd of Big Mamas House lol, I was still really happy though because it was the first and last time I ever won anything.

Yes I won many things-

1st Place State Art Contest- $10 and a large gift bag
1st Place City Art Contest-No money, but great prizes each time
Superior District Science Fair Award- Certificate
State Science Fair- Some neat nick-knacks and the usual certificates
School Awards- Good Grade Certificates, a special plague , special certificates

I consider myself humble, and do not mean to brag. I appreciated my prizes, but the awards were the most meaningful to me. :)
