shiny, but it doesn't matter, does it?

It really doesnt matter, its just that when the foil is put through the machine that makes it, one side comes out shiny, and one comes out dull. I personally like having the shiny on the outside for that custom chrome look.

I heard you use the dull side to the food, the shiny to the outside. I think it has to do with preventing aluminum residue on the food. I hope this isn't for the microwave, cause I learned the hard way doing that.

Shiny side on the outside. The dull side faces the food I'm wrapping/cooking.

Well, I put the food ONTO the shiny side if I'm cooking something IN the foil because I figure the shinier it is the more it will reflect the heat back to the food.

However, if I'm using the foil to cover a dish, I put the shiny side UP because it looks prettier !

dull,i just like the way the shiny part looks on the outside, why?did you for get how to use aluminum foil?

The shiny side if for heat reflection to keep food from burning.

The dull side, in some brand styles, is the side that is non-stick (but it has to say it on the package).

Gee, that is a good question. I believe that proper folk use shiny side out, and folks that think their food will get done faster shiny side in.
Makes sense right? lol

While many believe that the shiny side's reflective properties keep heat in when wrapped on the interior, and keep heat out when facing exterior, the actual difference is imperceptible without instrumentation.
