I have a saying about republicans, 'they would rather cut off their nose to spite a democrat.'
For them I do believe this is some sort of competition where they would rather watch our country lose freedoms and put us in more and more danger everyday than to say the democrats were right.
For us democrats, we are just trying to salvage the freedoms, respect and admiration this country used to have. I don't care who is right or wrong. I just hate to sit back and watch everything I thought my country stood for destroyed.
Here is an example:
Just today I saw an answerer state that N.Korea developing nuclear weapons was Clinton's fault.
- N.Korea started developing nuclear weapons in the late 90s but after Clinton diplomacy they stopped. It was not until after Bush removed the USA from the anti-ballistic missile treaty in 2001 (that is long range nuclear weapons) and then stated N.Korea was on his axis of evil, that N.Korea announced it would begin developing nuclear weapons again. Can't say that I blame them.
Now why would that guy say that?
1. I believe that he truly believes that in his twisted idea of truth.
2. To ppl like that, this is a competition between dems and reps...

It's about doing what's best for the country by chewing double mint gum.
Go Double Mint Go! I am now a Green Double Mint party supporter.
Paul K quoted on 9/7/06:
"Double Mint. Both the R and the D seem to attract the "extreme". I believe the answers are usually in the middle and I recognize the need for compromise. I also think it is important to know the person. When I vote, it is usually 1/4 R, 1/4 D, The remaining are Independent or left blank."
