What do you Americans think of our fellow Briton Gordon Ramsey in Hells Kitchen?

Do you think he is too obnoxious?

Does he meet the sterotype of us Brits you have?

Personally I really like the guy. I have watched him on BBC America on his regular food shows. Hell's Kitchen was pretty funny. The fact is I don't regard him as any different simply because he is British. He had to deal with dumb donkeys all the time. Especially Tom - That guy was a turd plain and simple.

Gordon runs a tight ship and has an impeccable palette. Most of those contestants were simply outclassed. Heather deserved it most and she won. I can't say I would eat the food there in her Vegas place, but I would eat at Gordon's place in L.A.

It may not be The French Laundry but it will due in a pinch.

He seems pedantic and a bit effeminate.

I don't really know of a stereo type for Brits.

I guess two hundred years of separation give or take a decade has diminished the fun of poking fun at you. I don't think the same can be said for people poking fun at us. Oh well. Such is life.

He does wine a lot and call people names. Seems a little more French in that respect. I thought he was or at least I thought he was trained by the French. And no, that is not a slight at them but a recognition of how chefs run their kitchens in France.

To be honest, my only criticism of that show is the fact that they keep pretty much the same menu throughout the show and yet it takes these people all season long to get to where they can fix the dishes in a timely manner. To me that says that he is not training them properly. They should be given intensive training on his menu from the start and if they fail they should be decapitated for posing as a chef when they are not one. That is what I would do. Swack! Off with their heads.

As for obnoxious, I don't think he rises to the level of obnoxious. Conceited maybe but not obnoxious. Then again his comment to that lady to get her breasts out of his kitchen was just rude. I wonder if she has sued him yet. Free dinners for life.

I think he is a kick in the pants. Yes, he can be a jerk, but he has allot at stake. He just wants to find the best. Away from the show he seems like a pretty decent guy. I don't have any stereotypes towards you Brits. I think you are great people. I especially like some of your TV shows. Are being served, Keeping up Appearances, Waiting for God(whatever happened to that one? we don't get it over here anymore), Fawlty Towers, one of the best comedies of all time! Cheers!!!

He is mean with a capital M but when he goes out with winners he seems to be pretty cool. Honestly some of them contestants cant even butter bread so I guess that can be frustrating
