It's been released from the "Others" lab. The symbol is that of the Hanso foundation. It's been collected and had various experiments conducted on it. Season 3 presents those locations more.

I didn't actually see it but apparently when the cast was watching the show they noticed it and rewound it(they had recorded it) and when they rewound it and watched it again it wasn't there. Weird.
