Any two consenting adults should be allowed to get married regardless of their sexual preferences. I'm male, married, and straight. By not allowing two consenting adults to be able to enter into marriage is discriminatory, period. How can you say it's not?? Besides, what's the big deal anyway. It's not going to hurt me if two women or two men decide to marry each other. In fact, it's none of my business, anymore then it would be for them to discriminate against me because I'm straight. If your going to accept homosexuality in our society (which I do), then they should be allowed to have the same privileges as everyone else. You can't have it both ways. It's all or nothing.

Marriage is a union between two consenting loving adults. And yes, the common definition is between a man and a woman. However, that has not always been the only definition. I feel that gay couples need some protection under the law and should at the least be allowed a civil union or contract that allows them to share and inherit. Many couples live together and do not marry but after 7 years, in most states, their union is considered a common law marriage and they can and do inherit, and bury, and get heath insurance for each other ( depending on which partner is employed). Why would anyone deny at least this for a loving committed couple no matter what the genetic combination is?? Love is love and it's not yours or mine or any preachers business. Live and let live. And at least acknowledge unions.

Thats the way God intended a union to be, between a man and a woman for eternity, and thats the way our current laws still define a marriage as

Exactly. It's a little messed up if you prefer to like someone with the same gender. God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. I think it's gross, but I'm not going to hate certain people because they choose to be that way. Yes, I quote the Bible, but I question it, also. It's very contridictory; it states that you should love your neighbor as yourself, but then it goes and says that homosexuals should be hated and looked down upon and so on. See what I mean? Yes, I think it's better for a marriage between a man and a woman, but I think we shouldn't hate gay or lesbian people. I do question their morals, and I'm a little wary of them, but I will not scream and yell at them and tell them that they're going to hell.

People have different beliefs about a lot of things in life. Who decides that "their" beliefs are the "right" beliefs? That "their" opinions are the "right" opinions? Why should anyone be allowed to force their personal choice or belief onto other people?? I say, if it doesn't affect you, mind your own business. Turn your head, close your blinds...worry about tending to your own garden in your own yard. As truth may have it, I'm sure their are plenty of people that don't agree with everything you do. And for the record, I am a woman married to a man. I have 3 children and if one of my kids tells me he/she is gay and they want to celebrate their love with a ceremony, I would respond the same gay or not... if the person they love treats them well, respects them, and makes them happy, I would support that relationship 100%.
