Traditionally, yes. The original reason for marriage in the first place was procreation. This can only be done between a man and a woman.

I could care less who you marry. I'd be perfectly fine if you married your living room couch if you thought you were in love with it. Now, if you married it just for it's money (hidden in between the cushions), then I would have problems with that.
Since you are talking about Man/Man and Woman/Woman marriages, I am fine with that as well. I don't think it is right for someone to disallow marriage to a couple who is obviously in love and is able to stand up to society's mocking. Kudos to them.

I like the first answer - it made me laugh. A lot of things "should be" but are not. Shouldn't people not have sex before marriage (that would solve sooo many "issues" between couples, not to mention teen pregnancy). Shouldn't people not kill eachother. Shouldn't people not judge eachother. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by all the should nots. I feel like we are all going to hell in a handbasket.

umm nope....People who love one another and not for money! Why would you deny the priveledges of marriage to two people who truly love each other based on their sex when people marry all the time and divorce ....what the same day (britney Spears). So if someone is going to truly glorify a union between their lover then no....it should not just be btw a man and woman.

thats the design by nature ,paternned of society that man and women,modernity change man to man and woman to woman,there is profound freedom so be it.

That is the only way it should be allowed.
I also think it should be a renewable contract instead of divorcing .
That would keep the lawyers out of it .
This would also give you a way out if it doesn`t pan out.
