He tells the world that he and Angie will consider marriage if the U.S. "drops its ban on who can be married". Does he really think that the public cares about his personal life enough to change public policy over it especially on something that the majority of Americans firmly stand against. So is Pitt on drugs or is he just mildly retarded?

You are so right and I'm glad you asked this question. He is a self-absorbed jerk who actually believes people care what he thinks.
Why do you think that, in thousands of years of human history, marriage between people of the same sex has never been recognized as a legitimate form of marriage. Even Greek society at it's most perverted never thought that relations between people of the same sex was worth recognizing in a legal way.
This current push to legalize homosexual marriage isn't about marriage--it's about power, control, and "me getting mine." It's essentially narcissism in a gold covered carriage, making everyone "look at me."
They could have all their legal problems of inheritance, guardian appointment, power of attorney, etc., taken care of by going to a lawyer. But, no, they'd rather foist their agenda off on all the rest of the population of the country. They haven't given enough thought to what will really be the fallout to all this, to actually concern themselves with the ultimate consequences to society and people in general.
Not all homosexuals think this is a good idea, just the really, really, egocentric ones.

I don't think Brad Pitt is a pompous moron, nor do I think he is mildly retarded. He happens to be a celebrity with an opinion. He expressed it, like so many others have done in the past and will do in the future.
I happen to like Brad Pitt. But, no celebrities opinion has ever been able to sway what I think. Rather I like them or not.
I think it is only the mildly retarded who really cares what he, or any other celeb thinks.

And I'll give the same answer here: People don't care about him. People care about the insanely ridiculous "public policy" of WHO CAN BE MARRIED, and that's just their way of protesting it. It's not going to work, but at least they're doing SOMETHING.
Also, the majority of Americans DO NOT "firmly stand against" gay marriage. Only the few morons with the power to do anything about it. Seriously, our country is run by people with the combined mental ability of a retarded 5th grader.

As far as I understand it, there is no actual ban as to who can get married even in cases where underage teens are involved. The fact that some marriages are not legally recognized is the issue on hand.
As far as Brad Pitt is concerned, he goes to bed with Angelina Jolie EVERY night. Hello? He's in 7th heaven and his head is in the clouds. Sure he's an important, wealthy, rich, lucky, famous guy but whether he marries or not does not matter an iota when it comes to the issue of gay marriages et. al. So let him continue living in sin, not that I can blame him, with the beautiful, luscious and insatiable Angelina. So yes, he's a bit pompous, the lucky SOB.

Brad is using his celebrity to sway public opinion. All celebrities do this. He's also entitled to his opinion just like every other person on the planet. Just because you don't agree with his opinion doesn't make him "on drugs", "mildly retarded" or a "pompous moron".

Well velvet, the majority of Americans may not 'stand' against it, but they ARE against it. It shows at the polls. It is all publicity. Pitt knows that most film critics are gay and therefore is plugging for the ratings. Or perhaps he himself has a hidden agenda, hmmm? Yet another celeb talking thru his butt.

Even if they DID get married they would be divorced in a few years anyway. So I don't care if they get married or not and I am not going to vote for "marriage for everyone" just so he can marry Angie....
