Do any of you remember a miniseries from 2003 about the Reagans? Do you think it was wrong for people to take issue with the misrepresentation of one of their leaders in that case or just in the case of the 9/11 miniseries?

Can we agree that the networks should take care with what they present as fact, regardless of who it vilifies?

I know that you guys hate Clinton. That's not the argument here. The question is what is the difference between the conservative reaction to the Reagan series and the liberal reaction to the 9/11 miniseries?

No, I don't think it is ever wrong to put the spotlight on lies, or truth for that matter. If people are thinking rationally, the truth will come out.
Yeah, I wish the networks would get it right once in a while, but we can't demand it. They can say 2+2=5 if they want and those who are stupid enough to buy it will be the only ones still watching the network. I think that deciphering lies from truth is the viewer's responsibility. Sadly there are too many media-sucking vegetables out there who buy it all, and never exercise original thought.

Ha. Sean Hannity spent his entire radio show today making the case that LIBERALS are blocking free speech.
Right... he's on a national radio show complaining that people can't exercise free speech. Will any conservative admit to the irony here?
The funny thing is that Hannity COULD HAVE made the case himself that Clinton caused the 9/11 attacks. But he didn't do that. Instead he talked for hours about how ABC won't allow that viewpoint to be heard. Right. Hannity's radio show is broadcast by ABC, but ABC won't allow that viewpoint. Are you kidding me?
If ABC and/or the other networks do refrain from airing the show, it won't be because of any limitation on free speech - it will be because the network knows dam* well that the show is slanderous and libelous.
"Free speech" also carries the responsibility to not injure people (physically, with yelling "fire!" in a crowded movie theater) and also on a level of reputation. You can't broadcast knowingly false statements about someone if you believe it would damage the person's reputation.
With the amount of attention and buzz generated already, the network would have to be stupid not to air it. Unless they know that it contains patently false representations about various people - who could win a libel case against them.

When will we all wake up and realize that the media/Hollywood is force feeding us garbage. Whether its liberal or conservative, it does not matter. Hollywood only wants to make more cash. If ABC chooses to edit "The Path to 9/11" it will only be so they will grab a greater portion of the market share. The same goes for the Reagan mini-series. Is there anyone that really thinks ABC is in pursuit of journalistic integrity? I haven't seen the mini-series yet and I will watch it either way. But I do so knowing that it is nothing more than ENTERTAINMENT.

I think that the propaganda piece, "Path to 9/11" should be shown in it's entirety AFTER the November elections. It is obvious that this cheesy manipulated pile of crap was created and funded by the the right-wing to sway the electorate (not all that sophisticated to begin with) to vote for candidates who support the Bush regime's rape of America. That ABC would participate in such a sham seems to indicate that they have either been intimidated or infiltrated by the fascist elements trying to totally control America for their own benefit.
