Smith died in 2003, aged 34, from two apparently self-inflicted stab wounds to the chest. However, as of 2006, the evidence surrounding his death remains inconclusive.

He (supposedly) stabbed himself in the heart (which has got to be the most emo death possible). However, much like Kurt Cobain's suicide, many people think Smith's girlfriend killed him.

He had several stab wounds but they cant decide whether it was self inflicted or not.
