An address alone is insufficient.
You also need to know the exact route of the road on which the address is located, the numerical value of the address at each end of the road, and whether or not there are discontnuities or irregular spacing of addresses within the road and if so what they are.
By using a map you can locate the exact address, then draw a horizontal line across from there to the edge in order to find lattitude, and a vertical line to the edge to find longitude. Most maps have lattitudea and longitude marked along the edges or in some cases at the corners (in these cases you then need to do a little calculating to find where your address lies betweeen the lattitude and longitude values of the map's corners).

Here it how to do it manually if you already have a latitude/longitude map:

Here is a site that will do it for you. On the left hand side under the heading "Maps" you enter the address. Then you clock the orange button, and it will tell you the exact latitude and longitude.

you would have to look at an atlas and find the point on that. You could try the internet, but dont get your hopes up.
