Probably an evolutionary advantage to get more air into their lungs. Like dark skin is an evolutionary advantage if you live were it is sunny.
People in cold climates need to warm the air more, so have narrow noses to control the flow of air.
Or it could just be a random variation, and I'm just guessing too hard.

That's not true because not all black people have wide noses that is like saying why do all whites have thin lips it's not all true because all different nationalities are born with different features in body an face .

It's been speculated that this was an evolutionary advantage in hot climates. We do loose quite a bit of body heat through breathing (people who hyperventilate for long periods can actually become hypothermic), and wider nostrils would allow more air to pass through at a time.
