When people hear about domestic violence they often ask the
question "Why do they stay in a relationship that is abusive, why
don't they just leave?" Often individuals will say " I would be out
the door the first time he/she ever laid a hand on me!" It is not
always as simple as it sounds. There are many reasons why one stays
in an abusive relationship. Each individual has different
circumstances, which keeps them from leaving an abusive relationship

Sometimes people are so used to being abused they feel it is what their life is about . Others don't have any one they can go to and are afraid of getting help from the authorities because they feel they are at fault. and some have been threatened if trying to get help and maybe have been caught while trying and abused More. it is mental abuse that makes people not think rationally . they are screwed up in their logical thinking and don't know where or how to get help.
