Try these steps:

Put the ink back in the printer
Go to start
Control Panel
Printers and Other Hardware
View Installed Hardware
Click on your printer with the right mouse button
Click Printing Preferences
There should be a tab that says COLOR
click it
Go to Advanced Color Settings - make sure they all say 0
if they dont - make them say 0.
Then there should be a tab that says SERVICES
Click it
Then click Service this Device

Should fix it!

Sounds like an Epson, Did you buy a new brand name cartridge? or a cheapo re-fill? Or a do it your self ink replacement?
Anyway if you have the manual try this: Shut off the unit for 1 Min. and re-power, Sometimes you have to hold down certain buttons to do a "re-set". But since you said it shows the cartridge as full i suspect a faulty cartridge. Epson type cartridges are cheap because they do not have the "head" in the cartridge, instead it is in the printer and when they go bad you need a new printer. I like HP because each cartridge comes with new "head" and the re-fill inks are a total pain.

Be sure the contacts on the back of the cartridge are clean and makin contact. Remove and insert the cartridge several times to 'wipe' the contacts. Print a test page to get ink flowing.
What is the brand and cartridge number? I'll look it up in my book for special steps.
