My first answer seems to have disappeared.
I do not think you can use a ring compressor on a 50 cc.
Ring Compressors are usually used on engines with split big ends and shell bearings, and a one piece crankcase and cylinder block, that is almost all cars.
However every 50 cc I have seen has a roller big end and the piston enters the barrel from underneath, if the rings are properly engaged with the ring pegs ( on a 2 stroke) it should be possible to feed the piston into the Barrel using reasonable finger pressure. Trying to use a ring compressor you have a major problem removing the compressor after the piston has entered the Barrel
I reckon the rings are not properly engaged on the ring pegs if the Barrel will not drop down

Make one out of the side of a tin can, split the side and bend about half an inch of the two sides of the split at 90 dgrees to the circle, squeeze together with gland pliers or mole grips. I did it for years.
