Those "cedars" may be sprigs of acacia, a common shrub of the Middle East. That with the blue ribbon seems to mark the Freemason as at least a Master (3rd degree). They symbolize the hope of resurrection on Resurrection Day along with all the souls of the Faithful Departed.
