Or a friend who doesn't buy you anything but spends quality time with you?

A good friend who is trustworthy, honest, fun to be with,
keeps your secrets, cares when you are sad, happy and pleased when you have accomplished something, is very difficult to find. If you manage to find a friend like that it is one of the most valuable gifts you can receive.Anything else is just a friendly bonus.Material things will never make a person completely happy if they don't have human companionship.

Definitely the one who spends time with u...!
U know gifts are over rated..!Even if i give really expensive gifts to my friends..i still spend quality time with them! It's just who i am...i may even give a gift to a friend when he/she doesn't celebrate anything...!
I think that if u support a friend...this is a gift as well which will be more than appreciated by your friends...!

quality time, definately.
if someone picks the neat stuff, then they're in that friendship for the wrong reasons. and that's just using someone, and it's sad.

that is a total no-brainer! A friend is someone you can count on to call in the middle of the night, or to give you moral support through a crisis, get you thru a marital breakup, etc. It's not what they can buy for you!!! That's so shallow.

Quality time of course. Money cant by happiness... Its not the gifts that count its the thought of someone being around...

kept the "friend" that buys you stuff around but let them know you don't want him to be buying you things. (if you still want that person around) that just going out for a beer on your birthday or a freaking hug on Christmas is substantial.
