It used to be quite fashionable, and when wearing a decent suit and coat it still looks great - but do you ever casually wear a hat? Or would you, if it became 'ok' again?

I'm a 47 year old male and I have been wearing hats for years. My first hat was a semi-dress western hat, which I really dressed up when I added a feathered hatband. Eventually, I got myself a more dress western hat. Now, I wear a Aussie western style leather hat from late fall thru mid-spring. It not only helps keep my head warm, but helps keep me dry too when it rains or snows and it goes with my long duster that I wear.

Basically, if you want to wear a hat, then pick the style of hat that you like and to hell with what anybody else thinks about it. You'll never be happy if you let the opinon of others run your life, especially when it comes to the little things like this.

If we can't make a decision on what to wear or what to eat, then we have little chance of making the bigger decisions on our own like what career to persue, where to live, what job to accept, what car to buy, and ect.

I wear a baseball cap while working out in the yard...but I'm out there for 8-10 hours a day (building an extension to the house)...And the fancier hats like for public occassions I wear sometimes but not too often.

Hats are worn depending on the style someone's going for. I've only found a few styles that hats go well with.

Suit and Tie with a nice top hat (like you said)
Navy uniform with a navy hat
A white sports cap with a tank top, Seven for all Mankind jeans and white Adidas
Black cowboy hat with a white t-shirt (Pure), Wrangler jeans, boots and a belt with a gold buckle
A crazy joker hat worn with a black Monarchy shirt, black torn Levi Jeans and cowboy boots (must be worn with confidence)

Other than that, most hats look too trendy and dumb

A hat is always OK if the head that wears it knows how to be dapper...

once I hear the be conscious "baseball cap" my techniques jumps to a minimum of a few difficulty like #a million. for my section, i think of that basically some grownup men can pull off a #a million, and that many extra appropriate grownup men can pull off a #2. You, ought to look superb in the two! besides the undeniable fact that, i think of you ought to truly look extra appropriate with a #a million due on your hair length and face shape.
