Massive stars, more than 15 times more massive than the Sun, live a few million years, then explode, leaving a black hole. That's the just way things are. The evidence for this is pretty good---many "black hole candidates" are known from astronomical measurements.
When a black hole is near the center of a galaxy, it can grow by absorbing stars, gas, and Dark Matter. It now seems that most (perhaps all) galaxies have massive (several million times more massive than the Sun) black holes in their centers.
The theory of General Relativity, combined with theories of particle physics, say that whenever you have too much stuff, more than 1.4 times the mass of the Sun, and this stuff has no source of heat like stellar fusion, then the result must be a black hole. There is no other solution to the equations.

Enough matter placed together, like the crap left over from dead stars (and I'm talking about really big ones) can be so tremendously heavy that it is crushed down until it loses the ability to manifest as a physical object entirely, that is it loses height, width and depth and becomes nothing but mass that exists at a point in space known as a singularity. The gravity is so great that light is pulled inside (an area known as the event horizon (the dark area in the middle) all the stuff spinning around it is called the accretion disk, gasses and matter pulled into an ever tightening orbit, atoms are sheared apart in this disk and a powerful magnetic field is created and jets of radiation shoot out from the poles (I don't know how this comes about)

What is a black hole?
---------------------
Loosely speaking, a black hole is a region of space that has so much mass concentrated in it that there is no way for a nearby object to escape its gravitational pull. Since our best theory of gravity at the moment is Einstein's general theory of relativity, we have to delve into some results of this theory to understand black holes in detail, but let's start of slow, by thinking about gravity under fairly simple circumstances

black hole is the situation that occurs on the end of a heavy-matter holder star.at that time all matter of the star left gets in the centre of the star.so it creates a great gravitational force.since that force is really strong even light waves cannot get out of it.so we cannot see it but we can get rid of it by it's effects on nearby stars.they start moving around that black hole under it's gravity.

Yes, there is a reason black holes exsist. This happens when a star dies and then collaspes. In this process it creates a black hole.

a black hole is a star that imploded.
there isn't really a reason for anything in the universe.

If there is a reason for Fleas, there is a reason for Black Holes. We just don't know what it is yet!

is there any reason why anything exists!!! U'll have to read a book on the solar system to find out. i think u'll find out how the black whole comes into being. But why it exists....u'll have a little trouble with.

stars implode on themselves and the gravity left by the implosion keeps feeding itself. look it up its interesting stuff. there are a few black holes pretty close to earth! they are strong enough to suck the whole planet up and crush us down to the size of an atom!
