I try to help him but he's always tumbles over, i don't know what else to do... i know all babies go through different stages and not every baby will be able to sit alone but i'm a concerned mother..... someone please help... much appreciated :)

Boys usually develop at a slower rate than girls (statistically it is proven). My son started sitting on his own about 7mo crawled at 9mo and walked at 13mo. Try giving him a boppy (its a semi circle cushion found at any store that sells baby supplies). Prop him up on that, it will help support him and cushion him he is to tumble over. Once he sits up good with that then start removing the cushion. He will get it soon... one day he'll be tumbling over the next he'll sit like a pro and you will be the proudest mom!!! Good Luck and Take Care.

Seven and a half months is still very normal for your baby not to be sitting yet. It's the late end of normal, but still normal. Check out the graphs in the links (the WHO graph for normal motor development) and you'll see that the range for sitting is between 4 and 9 months, give or take a few weeks on either end.

So, don't worry, take a deep breath, and just let him do things in his own time. :) He's perfectly normal.

Fist time mom i assume don't worry i 6 kids cant tell by looking at me. Back to your concern don't worry babies sit, crawl, walk, and talk all in their own time and if you have any more you'll you will greatly be able to see the difference some kids are fast some are slow its all a matter of time as impatient as we adults are babies have there own time. LOL
I laugh because I'm in the same situation as you are.
My daughter is 7.5 months old and cant sit up alone. I help her by putting my hand behind her back and then slowly take my hand away. She stays that way for about 3 seconds and either falls backwards or front. When she is laying on her back she tries to sit up by straining her neck upwards.
I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. I think more kids then we realize start to sit up later than sooner. She can sit up just fine when I have her in the corner of the couch. She seems to sit by herself, but not really.
Don't worry. It will happen when he is ready.

Just to make yourself feel better about it , take him to a chiropractor to make sure there is nothing wrong in his back, my niece was 11 months and not sitting only to find out that her muscles needed more exercise, they didn't support her quite enough. So other then that no worries , babies are all different, ours sat at 8 months, but at 6 1/2 I already propped her in a laundry basket. So good luck.

My son could crawl by 7 months but not sit. He did not start sitting up by himself til around 9 months when he started pulling himself up and cruising. He probably just needs a little time, don't worry he is fine.

My son didn't sit up on his own until he was 9 months. Now he is a very healthy, active 2 year old. Each child develops at his/her own rate. If you are still concerned about it, talk to your pediatrican. I know I did.

My brother was the same way when he was a baby and people said he was just fat and lazy. My mom took him to the chiropractor and got him adjusted (yes, it's safe) and he was sitting up and pulling to stand the next day.

Target/Babies-R-Us sells this seat called a Bumbo . It runs about $40.00 but will help your child strengthen himself enough to sit on his own!

Just let him develop at his own pace. He will sit on his own. It will most likely feel like it happened overnight. He will probably have trouble one day and then the next, you'll be like oh my god he did it look at my smart little guy. Just enjoy him. He won't be little for long.
