How to Hang an American flag vertically on the wall?

Question

What is the proper way to hang an American flag on the wall, if hanging it vertically instead of the traditional horizontal way. Should the stars go on the left or right?

Remember, it's veritcal i.e. the stripes are running up and down.

Please give a reference or some sort of credibility to your answers (military personnel). I dont want to follow a guess.

The stars should be at the top, to the flag's own right (to your right, if you stand with your back to the wall).

"When the flag is displayed in a manner other than by being flown from a staff, it should be displayed flat, whether indoors or out. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window it should be displayed in the same way, that is with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street. When festoons, rosettes or drapings are desired, bunting of blue, white and red should be used, but never the flag."

Ten yrs. or ten seconds ago,jesus is a low life & should not B in the U.S. A. I found my brothers older FLAG &hung it by my garage, but was not sure how 2 hang it. Thanks 2 all who got me in the right direction. Was having a great day till piece of garbage jesus gave it,s BS.even though it,s 10yrs ago. I,m sure there,s a lot,NO ALL VETS would like 2 have a word with this TRASH!!

Stars on left (so it looks sort of backwards). To hang them on right is distress signal.
