Beer, I think, should be properly appreciated for it's taste and not it's alcohol content.

But if you want more alcoholic beers with lots of flavor and body, try imperial stouts and Belgian abbey ales. They usually run 9-12%. And they can really pack a punch, so watch out!

Because people buy a lot more beer having 4-6% in it than they would if it had 10% in it.

the fermentation process to make beer that strong probably causes some funky tastes, not to mention is probably more difficult and more expensive. keep in mind that beer's creation methods are based on time honored traditions as well. at any rate, they have sophisticated beer that sits at about 12% alcohol. it's called wine.

You can get beer as strong as 13% by normal processes and stronger with artificial 'aid'. However, just like you wouldn't chug a pint of vodka, the stronger beer gets the less easily it goes down.
