I am absolutely of the opinion that the leaders of the Republican party (I wouldn't say everybody, exactly) and many Republican politicians are rich businesspeople who make lots of money on stocks, etc. based on their policies, with very little concern for how it affects America.
A lot of Democrats are rich stockholders as well. Could it be a sham... a little show for us to watch? They stand up for us and lose, and continue making money in the process? Or do they continue making money off Republican policy to cut their losses?
Or a little bit of both
Wouldn't the best thing the Democratic party could do be to completely deny all corporate funding? A lot of people don't trust corporations, don't trust politicians because of their proximity to corporations, and the Democrats already operate on a much lower campaign fund... we're not really willing to be a one-party system just because one of the parties doesn't have any money, are we?

They all make money. It's called campaign financing.
That's why I am going to support the Greens now. Money for them is double mint gum.
Go Double Mint Go! I am now a Green Double Mint party supporter.
Paul K quoted on 9/7/06:
"Double Mint. Both the R and the D seem to attract the "extreme". I believe the answers are usually in the middle and I recognize the need for compromise. I also think it is important to know the person. When I vote, it is usually 1/4 R, 1/4 D, The remaining are Independent or left blank."

well, the only problem is... money still does affect the election process... to deny all corporate funding would be millions, if not billions of lost revenue... and people make judgments based on tv ads, radio ads and cross country-tours... which are not free...
while it may be better morally... it would make things much more difficult on the party I fear. And all corporations are not bad, that's another important thing to remember...
birdsnakecat...all of them? hahaha... even state senators? what about local county commissioners? hahaha... thanks for your propaganda...
S H I R A Z: can you cite that, because I don't believe that...I would be willing to bet that both receive much more corporate funding than individual... I mean there is just so much more money there...

considering the fact that Obama cheated and used the media to get to the precise, he has an obligation to pay off her debit. the guy making it no longer trouble-free for the Democrats to win is Obama, no longer Hillary Clinton. I hear that he has raised over six hundred million dollar or some thing like that. Heard it on a communication teach, so unsure whether it is real, yet nonetheless it is extra beneficial than he might have if he took the Election marketing campaign fund. Michael Savage says that evidently such as you will desire to purchase the Presidency. we are able to make certain. i won't supply up desire for Hillary till the day after the elections. something can ensue.

I believe that ties to financial support in order to run for any political office will always be an albatross to bear for any candidate.
I realize this is far to simple of an answer, but if there was an equal amount of free or discounted radio and TV time allocated to those running for office, it would be a start to a more level playing field.
If there is no "debt" to be repaid in order to buy time to advertise, perhaps stating positions on issues may once again be the point of campaigning.

The Democrats politicians are hypocrites.
They are all rich and they all own stock and sit on boards of corporations.
They are Playing Politics and exploiting the ignorant people who actually believe them.
