No, but if they are young I wouldn't let them snack between meals, if they didn't eat.
If you turn eating into a power battle it will become increasingly difficult to have a healthy relationship with food.
If they don't eat their dinner don't make a big deal of it, take the food away.
Maybe get them more involved in cooking and choosing what food to eat at meal times.

I usually make her eat at least half! She can be kind of picky, I guess its an age thing, so I do my best to cook what she will eat. Sometimes her appetite just isn't there, So I never force her.

I tried to, but hubby complained and said I gave them too much on their plate, etc. SO, he's now in charge of making sure they eat! HAHAHAHAHA!!

No. Life is too short for food wars. Our rule is to honestly try 1 bite of a new food. If you like it, eat it; if not, don't.

No
They take normal portions and if they want more they can have seconds.
I don't like to waste food, if they don't finish it they can have it for snack later.

no, I don't have kids.
I think I would accept the challenge of making healthful things that they would want to eat if I did.
