I live in CA and we have AHnold - I never thought it would happen either, so dont count your chickens just yet!

In our country ANY citizen really has the right to run for public office, however I think that a celebrity that has no background, education, or experience in politics isnt the wisest choice.

Public office isnt about being celebrity its about serving the people!

Yes they should!!! I'm Minnesotan and somehow (only the twin Cities voted for him) Jesse "the body" Ventura made it in to the Governor's office - now we are feeling the repercussions years later.

Celebrities who use their fame to further political goals are also a bit sketchy... some are pretty smart (Bonno, Bill&Melissa Gates) but most don't have enough understanding of politics to make a really informed (or informative) statement/opinion.

I would hope that celebrities should stay out of politics all together!!! Just because they are notables does NOT make them political experts. Imagine Senator Obama stating that he could do a better job at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers than the regular starting quarterback. Ridiculous isn't it?

Yes, we pay them to entertain us, not to tell us how life should be. They have no real sense of how real people live, they should just stick to what they are good at.
