How did he die? I've heard it was heart failure or drug overdose;and also that no one ever saw the body except his girlfriend.I know the Oliver Stone movie about the Doors was basically bullsh*t. I read somewhere that there might have been something more involved in his death,Anybody know ?

They say it was a heart problem. Probably from the year's of substance abuse. I visited his gravesite in Paris and it was the strangest thing I've ever seen. Spray painted directions all over the cemetary pointing the way, along with lyrics from the Doors songs. Someone had placed a sculpture of his head on the grave and spray painted the hair green. I wasn't sure if this was a great tribute to a fallen poet or the supreme insult.

He died on July 3, 1971, at age 27, and was found in his bathtub by Courson. According to Stephen Davis' biography of Morrison, it was reported that he had dried blood around his mouth and nose and large bruising on his chest. This suggests Morrison might have died from a massive hemorrhage caused by tuberculosis. Many fans and biographers have speculated that the cause of death was a drug overdose, but the official report listed the cause of death as heart failure. No autopsy was performed because the medical examiner, pursuant to French law, found no evidence of foul play. The lack of an official autopsy left many questions unanswered and provided a fertile breeding ground for speculation and rumor.

He's said to have died in Paris of heart failure, although some people speculate a drug overdose. However, there's a lingering conspiracy theory that won't go away about his death that seems to point to more sinister causes.

He had a heart attack in Paris, France. He's buried in France. He was in a bath tub at the time of his death. It might have been a mix of drugs and alcohol? Never did see the real cause of death anywhere. Maybe it was hereditary?
