Im sure that most of us remember the controversy of the infamous "gay gene". Was it real? was it possible?..well, moving on...

Some groups argued for it, using it as a crutch to explain their lifestyle; whereas others objected such a claim saying it mocked the foundation of physical and mental genetics.

I don't know if there is anything that's actually called a "gay gene", however it has been scientifically proven that persons who are gay are born that way as opposed to choosing homosexuality as a lifestyle. I have also read an article that said when there are several older male siblings in a family, the last male child is likely to be gay. I have found this true in several families with whom I am acquainted, so there must be some truth in it, and not mere coincidence. That there is some genetic circumstance, is plausible. However, I'm uncertain as to whether or not a gay gene specifically is responsible. There are certainly predispositions to various illnesses such as alcoholism which can be attributed to genetic makeup. But I think genes are more likely to produce physical characteristics and tendencies, than behaviors.

I suppose it's possible. I believe it is MORE than just genes though. Being gay probably has more to do with crossed wireinng in the brain from hormone imbalances or something. Keep in mind, I am gay, so I am not saying this is a BAD thing, just what happens. I shouldn't say crossed wiring, I guess what I mean is "Different".

There is no gene to explain a particular human behavior. Gays may be wired differently in the head but that is not the same thing as a gene.

No. It is called a perversion. Otherwise do I have a normal gene, an "I like to go fishing" gene or I just gotta have a smoke gene. The gay gene is merely an excuse to try to normalize a perverted way of thinking.

Deep down we are animals.

Our primal urge is to survive.

That includes eating and procreation of species.

A 'gay gene' would undermine the process of life and is therefore an impossibility in genetics.

It's not genetic.

Our sexual imprinting takes place in the first three or four years of our lives during the primary socialisation period. It is then re-affirmed throughout your childhood and adolescence by repeatedly seeing or feeling the same things and that experience causing at least a primary state of arousal.

If you look in to your own mind deeply enough, you'll find the experiences that lead to your sexuality/ fetishes. You'll find that most of these were quite ordinary experiences.

Fiction: Men and Women are EITHER gay or straight.
Fact: 90% of ALL boys and girls are TEMPTED with homosexuality, and only 10-25% actually become gay.

Fiction: We are who we are, and we must find that out.
Fact: MOST gay men in the late '70's -'80's were only gay for 8-10 years.

If people who "Are Who We Are" holds true, then why do they go back straight? Why do ANY of them go back straight? Ever? It's because people, I DID say PEOPLE, become weak in the absence of LOVE. In the ABSENCE thereof, ANYTHING can come in and take hold: HATE, ANGER, REBELLION, Immorality, unnatural urges, drunkeness, etc., etc., etc.

I'm not gay although used to work with a girl that was. I loved talking to her about it and learning about her thoughts and stuff. She has many family members that are homosexual. I think a gay gene is very possible because I think that your sexual orientation is something that is determined before you are born, not learned. But...that's just MY opinion.
