Having my morning coffee (it was early morning)....and then promptly spit it out all over my bed...then watched each one as they came down feeling completely helpless and lost--and grieving for each person and their family....and thanking God I had no family in there.

I was a sophmore in high school. I live in Atlanta, and a lot of New York natives are in Georgia. It was a sad day in history. On 9/11 I was in my visual arts class, working on a project and I think my teacher got a call on the phone or someone came to our door and told her to turn on the TV and thats when all the sad news was pouring out and everyone from NY at my school was crying and worrying about there relatives and people was checking out, I was very sad and in disbelief but it was true, it was about 9:30-10am when I found out. People were in disbelief and shock. We could not believe the Twin Towers were gone. I feel and sympatize for all those affected by 9/11.

I was sitting on the couch at home waiting to leave for work. I saw the news that the first tower had been hit and immediately started paying attention. I saw the second plane coming around the building and turned to my husband and said "What the heck is he doing coming in for a closer look?". No sooner was it out of my mouth when it hit the second tower. I went to work and everyone there had gotten there before it had all started so I told them what I knew. They all scrambled for TVs and radios. We spent the rest of the day mostly listening to the news.

I actually had just gone to sleep since I worked the 2nd shift at the time. When I woke up around noon, I turned on the TV to get the weather report and saw that the s**t had hit the fan! I was pretty much speechless for the rest of the day.

I had the day off work, my daughter and I had just gotten around that morining. My neice had just been dropped off for me to watch and I had just turned on Good Morning America. I was confused at first thinking it had to be somewhere in another country. I actually saw the second plane hit live. I just remember Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer kept saying "Oh my God" over and over.

I was having breakfast and watching TV in the kitchen of my old house when the news reports broke into whatever I was watching at the time. That was all they could talk about when I got to school that day...

I was sleeping when a Friend called to ask if I had seen what happen. The rest of the day was spent in front of the TV. Very unnerving day. I can't watch the movies they have made about that day , don't think I'll ever be ready to see them.

I was getting ready for work. I had just turned the radio on and the two towers were already burning. I turned the TV on and just sat there for about half an hour watching. I was late for work that day.

When I left for a meeting with my child's counselor, they were still trying to decide what type of plane had hit and how it went off course. By the time I reached the school, the second plane had just hit.

My ex boyfriend and I were having sex. His roomate interrupted to tell us that a plane went into the World Trade Center. We continued having sex then the roomate interrupted again to tell us that a second plane had hit the other tower. We stopped what we were doing, got dressed and watched the television news coverage.

I was sitting in a dentist's office chair in Cotulla, Texas. I was listening to their radio and all of a sudden the news came on. I think we were all in a state of disbelief.
My dentist left the room and came back in a few minutes as if he had tried to compose himself so he could finish the job.....very scary day.
