What is this obsession with Indian women wanting to be lighter? I mean where does it come from. There are so many theories and ideas about the colour complex in India. I would like to hear from Indians not just NRI's.... Why do women torture themselves in order to fit an ideal of beauty that the majority of the Indian population does not possess?

Philosophy has a skin lightener--can't recall the name, and it's fairly pricey, something like $25 a bottle--that I've used simply for evening my skin tone; I have known some gothy girls who used it to great effect to make themselves paler.

Oh here it is: http://www.amazon.com/philosophy-pigment-imagination-topical-lightener/dp/B000B8UO6Q

You would need a good bleaching agent with at least 4% hydroquinone. You'd need to go to a dermatologist for it.
