And how can I get rid of them?
I have tried drinking water and holding my breath but it seems i still get them at least twice to three times daily and they are the painful ones. It seems that since I had my gallbladder removed that they are more frequent. does anyone know if that has some thing to do with anything?

hiccups are caused by the diaphragm muscle being in spasm. Get rid of them by holding your breath or by rubbing the soft spot behind the ear and under the jaw bone. Check with your doc about the gallbladder connection

I think it's caused by the nerve signal rhythm going awry for a bit. It should go away in a short while. See a doctor if it's painful.

It's caused from getting too much air.
I don't know if your gall bladder being taken out would somehow make you suck in more air or not. I'd ask your doctor.
