Does anyone know the elevation of the 9th ward of New Orleans. I know that it is below sea level but how far below is it?

I THOUGHT I heard numerous TV reporters refer to it as 10 ft. below sea levels.

". . . . . . .It takes another two days for the floodwater inside the city and in Lake Pontchartrain to equalize to about three feet above sea level. This leaves the average home in six to nine feet of standing water."

According to this account, about 3-6 ft. below sea level.
A topographical map of the area has a -5 ft. contour line enclosing a fairly large area.
