It won't . GM bought the manufacturing rights to the Crosley , that got 60 miles to the gal . put it in a vault and wouldn't allow them to be made any more . Now that gas prices are high , why not start producing them again ? Are they in bed with and have always been , the oil companies ? If they are then they should go bankrupt . The Government will bail them out again . I think they are doing it on purpose to make the workers , work cheaper ..

It raises the cost of the vehicles overall.
Although this has been a issue all along, the real problem is that the oil companies have squashed fuel saving technologies from as far back as the early sixties.
So what we really need is the alternative fuels and made by companies that can take the money from the big oil people.

The companies will claim it hurts their profits... but I think they're short-sighted. If they would produce cars that get 40 mpg and reduce emissions, which they can do but refuse to do, then they just might turn their industry around.

Wow. Are you 10 or are you mentally challenged?

Cutting emmissions costs money. If cars cost more to make, they cost more to sell. If they cost more to sell, they sell less. If they sell less, they make less money.

Hopefully that was simple enough for you to follow.
