You sound like a decent person and you raise a question that has been asked since ancient times. The rich value their money above all other things – so they will not share it with what they consider to be ‘lesser’ humans – unless they give to charity and use that as a tax right-off.

Why aren’t healthy ‘fathers’ supporting those families? Maybe people assume that the women are cheap and do not know who the fathers’ are. Yet men do expect women to have sex in a relationship – even when the men do not promise to provide for them in the event of pregnancy… Are we women digging our own graves when we have sex so easily with men who do not even ‘believe’ that it is their responsibility to support a family married or otherwise?

When it comes to a poor woman with a child it comes down to women’s roles. The jobs that woman have traditionally done – have always been the least appreciated. Look at the people who said that these women ‘do not work’ in their answers. !!!!!! Is there anything more ridiculous than that? Caring for a baby IS WORK! It is not really feminism that has undermined the role – it is chauvinism. Feminists simply wanted to see women respected in the roles that they had, and since dump the kids off at daycare seems to be more respected that is what they fought for ‘secular’ work. WOMEN DO WORK – they just don’t always ‘get pay’ or recognition for the work that they do!!!!

We live in an ugly, greedy world. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Callous mothers are usually more successful – now that being a mother is not a JOB. And the rich do not even understand the meaning of the term ‘working poor.’ Those people who do have paid jobs and work long hours but do not have the money to make ends meets.
Many of the poor women and children out there have WEATHLY husbands/fathers who have moved on to prettier/younger/trampy woman. The one disrespected is the one left in poverty – not the husband and his new bride. That is how a man’s world works. That is how a greedy world works.

Many people who are rich probably worked very hard for/or were very smart with their money. Why should they have to give it up to those who are less fortunate than they are? It was not their choice to go out and have babies...and it's not their responsibility to take care of the babies in the world..just because they may be less fortunate. This is a ridiculous question. Why should you have to give your money to someone who was less responsible and mature as you? Would you do it?

They don't give money because they don't have a responsibility to support other people's children. If poor people can't afford to have kids then they have the option of birth control at a number of free/low cost places - like planned parenthood.

in many cases, sad to say but nevertheless true, poor people either will not practice birth controle and can give no logical reason why not.. their are those to who deliberately have more children in order to recieve public aid. something else to consiter is that many able bodied people will now work a all. it is very hard for a common laboring man to make ends meet nowdays svsn under the best of circumstances, ritch people realise this situation is going on here in this country today and that is one reason they will not contribute. many ritch people have ben hounded for contributions for so many worthless, idiotic causes they have grown caloused to worthwhile charities. this is the best i can figure this queston out. i am from a poor working family myself. before we married my wife and i agreed to only one child, then sterilaziton for one or both of us. unfortunately we have had no children we both love children. i am sorry to hear you are childless, unless you have intentionaly delayed having children as yet
