For years I've seen black guys in movies, on TV, etc. waving their arms and hands around making all kinds of gestures with their fingers, talking more chit than a japanese radio. " know I say'n, aight,see I say'n" that kind of crap. I just attribute it to their rythm thing and thats that. But when I see a white guy doing it I laugh my azz off. Why can't these guys just be normal? It must take some effort to put on the clown suit and act like a mindless yak with no sense of direction in life whatsoever.Do they think it makes them look cool or what? But what they hey? Atleast they make me laugh.

I don't know but there is nothing cornier than a white boy from the suburbs acting like he's a thug. I hate it when people pretend to be what they're not. Even when it comes to some black people in Canada. They try to talk and act like the black people in the States when in reality no one acts like that down here or in any of the major metropolitian Canadian cities and so-called ghettos that I have lived in. People should just be themselves! The same thing happens with white girls down here trying to be Jamaican. You see them all over Toronto wearing their hair in braids and speaking more Patois than I do.
To each his own I suppose.

It's called falling to the lowest common denominator.
It's much easier to act that way than to act like you've been well bred, educated, or have manners - or originality.
Pop-culture worship of hip-hop etc., has reached critical mass. There's a backlash coming. You have Gwen Stefani singing about bling, Justin Timberfake pretending he's a young MJ, and that clown music producer Storch! Google Image that dude and have a laugh! Sure he's rich, but what a jack@ss!

It's obvious: they're idiots. And it's also funny when you see a white guy driving a big 4-wheel drive and calling himself "hick" or "redneck", but they turn their stereo on and it's some off the wall rap garbage. Or their pants falling down around their ankles, but they swear on their life they're country. HA!!

My point is the question could be reversed. People make choices based on who they want to be, and we should respect those choices, independent of racial and ethnic identity.

anybody whos trying to act like somebody he's/she's not (rich people, that kind of african american,) they just want to be "cool" to be accepted by the people around them , or to "impress"..
