Probably. Once you're 18 and/or out of high school, things will improve. Nothing sucks with more sharp teeth than being underage and under the thumb of your parents.

It depends on what you do with your life. If you go to college, work hard, and get a job, and make a life for yourself without having to answer to anyone, things are getting better. There will always be tragedies, there will always be downfalls, but when the good typically outweighs the bad, things are getting better.
If you blow off school and go work in some dead-end job somewhere (i.e. waitress, work at Wal-Mart, etc.), things will not get better. You will do the same thing until you die, and you'll never, barring a lotto win, have any reason to look to and positively anticipate the future.
I am 23 years old, and sometimes it's hard to believe all that I've accomplished on my own since I left high school in 2001. I got a Bachelor's Degree, bought my own car, got a great full time job, got married, bought a house, and have started work on a Master's degree. There were PLENTY of bad things that happened, too, and lots of hard work, but all things considered, I can look back and see that things got better because I MADE THEM BETTER.
I wish you the best of luck, and please take it to heart when I say that your life is what you make it.

Some things will definitely get better. You will have more money and stuff when you get older. Some things you will learn are not as important as you thought they were when you were 17. Whether you're 17, 27 or 67 hang in there and enjoy the ride.

It does indeed get better! As you get older, you have more control over your life, especially once you reach legal adulthood. At present, your body is not quite finished changing to adulthood, and this makes things seem even crazier. DO give yourself time, and cut yourself some slack - we all go through weird stuff as adolescents/young adults. It's hard to see it now, but every adult has been through the mixed up feelings and confusion that you're dealing with. I'll say it too - HANG IN THERE - you're only just beginning the adventure! :-)

I think you can only get out of life what you put into it. As a teenager you have to go to school and all of that other obligatory stuff that you have no choice but to do. When you become an adult, and can take care of yourself, you have a greater freedom to live the kind of life you want to live. Gotta remember that a "better" life doesn't imply a perfect or painless one.

Yes, definitely.
1. Body - despite what the media feeds us 'bout teenage girls, I think my body was "best" around 27
2. Money - having money to spend is cool - but spending other peoples money (debt) is even better
3. Sex - women hit their sexual peak about 35 - I know its hard to believe but from my own experience and that of my friends - we think it's totally true
4. Family - having family but not having to live with them - rocks - and making your own family molding them to your habits and perspective so that they think its normal - rock!
5. Career - despite what you may think now - you don't have to decide what you want to be or what you want to do - and a career can be enjoyable and fulfilling - don't sweat it until 5+ years after completing college
6. Politics and Religion - you'll find out they don't really have that much to do with your everyday life and you'll chill out about "living in the kingdom of the good and should"
7. Relationships - okay I bombed out here - but ya know - its not too bad - it all makes you stronger in the end and the ride was cool.
I look around my house full of my ****, do my stuff every day and spend my money on **** every weekend and think to myself - damn lives good!
And I am what you would call "old"
It's okay dear, the water is warm!

Let me look into my crystal ball j/k
I don't know if things will get better for you because I don't know you. Do you work hard and want to get somewhere in life? I'm not saying that you do but you can't just sit around and expect everything to be handed to you, you have to work your butt off. They say you only get out of it what you put into, you reap what you sow. So the better question is will you make things get better for you? You have to have a strong head on your shoulders and a good heart.

In this day and age, the cost of living is going up and will get worse when you start into your mid-twenties. The only hedge to survive and live somewhat comfortably is a good education resulting in a good, well-paying job. I kid you not, mark my words.
And if you get married, Get A F*cking Prenup!! Otherwise, the divorce will destroy you financially as American laws are made for the female's benefit (but then again, I don't know what sex you are).
arf!

Yes...they will. We all have our own time lines, ups and downs, but the longer one lives the easier it is to accept both, and the better one gets at seeing the joy and love in living.
