I am no bigot, racist, or otherwise. Now that that's out of the way, I must ask; Why, are so many African Americans still racist against whites? Some of my ancestors made horrible decisions, not me. I just think that everyone should be treated equally and given fair chance before you judge them, if you even think you have the right to. I also think that you live and teach by example, so if you wanted to be treated as an equal, or good person, why not exemplify that instead of doing to others what you're so upset about happening to you or your ancestors? I am caucasion, and I have experienced far more racism from African Americans than I have ever witnessed happening to them, though I am not naieve, I know it happens as well. That being said, I still put my best foot foreward and blame the individual, not the color of their skin. I'd like to hear your opinions on my question.

There is lots of discrimination around the world today, be it race, religion, gender, age, species, social status… (too numerous to mention). Such discrimination arises because our minds are deluded. The concept and definition of race only exists in one’s mind. There is a tendency to think that one is more superior or inferior than others. This leads to segregation of one’s life with the surrounding people and eventually closing our minds to others. When this happens, trust and understanding can no longer be forged.

Pablo Casals (Spanish Catalan cellist, composer, & conductor) once said: “the love of one’s country is a splendid thing. But why should love stop at the border?”

We need to learn to truly respect everyone as each individual has their innate potential. To do so, each of us has to have a greater common goal and I believe that is to work towards being a global citizen. This is the means to transcend all differences among people. Think about this scenario: What if everyone on earth knows that alien will be attacking us soon (I am not discriminating aliens)? Will we all unite together? :)

I am Mexican American, I've lived racism, from whites, and blacks. Let me remind u that when the Spaniards conquered south America, they also enslaved and nearly wiped out an entire race, MILLIONS perished., and none the less, we don't hate either the Spaniards nor whites.Just the same, the enslaving of these African people was horrible and inhumane.
But I notice most younger generations didn't witness All those atrocities, how can they b resentful? What's more, they go around calling themselves the 'N' word, which I think is tasteless and disrespectful to those people who fought so hard , sometimes paying with their lives so they wouldn't be called that.
Racism is wrong, no matter who it's from or to whom it is directed, sometimes it happens out of fear of what we don't know or understand, or out of resentment, or because we don't feel accepted by a certain people, or it can be handed down to children.

I am white also. Much of the racism today is caused by several different things. One, is there are still alot of racists, both black and white. Two, some poeple cry racism where there isn't any and three, the media drives alot of it. During a discussion about quarterbacks at Ohio State, on a sports radio station, the on air personality couldn't figure out why all of the fans weren't behind the black q.b. He said "The only thing I can figure is, its race related." For some maybe, but that just starts a bunch of crap.

are you serious? Spend a lifetime with a blackperson you could never understand.Everyday many white people live of the money their grandfathers and greatgrandfathers made by enslaving blacks , when we see how rich many of them are and how poor many of us are it hurts. Look up a lynching of a black person from the 50's, its not just a photo that was somebody's child its not like a movie or some entertainment black people lost their lives because whites didnt like the way we looked! And there are whites who still think less of us to day it hurts a lot and its not as easy to just forget. With that said I am black and my fiancee is white I love the person he his we do look at the person not the color but if he couldnt understand why it still hurts so much we couldnt be together.

As long as there are people that see people as races and not as people, or say "our races" or "human races" instead of just a human race, there is no way man can avoid racism.

The more you say our races the more racist you'll tend to be.

Fighting racism is like fighting death. There is no way man can win, but it also doesn't mean man should give up. (Why are we living at all?)

It's easier to feel oppressed and sorry for yourself than it is to try to correct the wrongs. I accept everyone into my community as long as they don't try to change the status quo. When they start imposing their lifestyle on me, ie: loud rap music, "boom-boom" car stereos, dogs running all over my property, I like most others will take a stand against such an invasion. They (no matter what race, religion, etc) must learn to respect the rights of others as they expect the same from us. I'll extend my hand in friendship, but don't try to take advantage of me.

About your comment that black ppl are more racist i agree with you but theres an explanation for that. When ppl think they were victims they tend to be more sensitive about it, they have a tendency to blame the other part and since they were victims once they think they still are in a lot of ways and they are always afraid to be discriminated again and again.. its always in their mind, and because they were victims they kinda think unconsciously that they can hate them because they have a "reason" to. Im not saying all ppl r like that but sometimes thats the case.

Racism is always gonna exist because we are humans, and once there are differences, people will always try to outline them. In Africa black people pick on other black people because they are from different tribes. White Americans pick on White British and vice versa. In the UK, the English pick on the Scottish who in turn pick on the Welsh and Irish. Its just human nature to identify with one group and pick on another group, and what a better way to create a divide between humans than by painting one set black and the other white? Personally, I blame God!!

1 reason I believe is there are so many surveys & polls that are dividing us not as victims, men or women in our nation but by our race.
Even as far as the sensus is concerned abuse, child neglect, women of domestic violence,....they are all listed on record somewhere but broken down by race,...not so much by state or town.
