Not only is it beautiful, but it's correct.
Since each person's capability to experience love is different, there is NO WAY to measure it. Even the person who is experiencing the love can't measure it, since it won't include what might come in the future.
Excellent quote tho!!

I don't agree. I think that poets are constantly measuring how much the heart can hold and it is "the world". The symbolic heart can hold all the pain and all the love that is thrust upon it. It is the essence of the soul.
In ancient Egypt the heart was the only organ considered important enough to stay with the body in its journey to the afterlife. If the heart, when measured by Ma'at against her feather, was found wanting, then the body and soul would be consumed and not allowed to enter the field of reeds. Ma'at knew how much the heart should hold. If it held too much or not enough then it was found wanting and not worthy to enter paradise.
Each heart is different and will only hold what it can. In a perfect world it would hold all the love and beauty available to it and none of the fear and hate that is holding it back.

Our Hearts can hold so much!We can live through pain, love, happiness, war and suffering only with the power that our heart holds...!Sometimes our heart is even torn apart into a million little pieces..but we find the strength to love again..to live an other day...!
There is no remedy for love but to love more.
Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862), Journal, July 25, 1839

It's the Soul that stores the love and the soul's capacity is infinite, the heart is merely a conduit.

I love that she says "not even poets" as though they are the definitive authorities! Beautiful.

I think every person is different and that each heart can hold a slightly different amount of whatever.

Perhaps, aside from this medical connotation, a heart can only hold as much as it can give out.
