I HAVE a talking (yellow nape amazon) parrot and she DOES know, pretty bird, and good morning and Get the phone (sometimes with :dam it!" behind it) But also, uh uh uh... (as in no no no) and how to cough and how to laugh (laughing is one of my favorites) And I have taught her (but she might have already known. "I love you Oogie" (I did not name her) and Oogie want a cracker? (a peanut is a 'cracker'). She now can sound like our dogs, our cat, simple whistling.. whistle the 'cat call'. Sound like a chicken and a horse blowing, and I can't think of all the things, but the thing she does most is just simply say Hello. in a man's voice, woman's voice, child voice, speaker phone. She is a constant source of pleasure to me. A half hour walk to the local store turns into a 3 hr trip because she talks to the various people and she is a great way to meet the people and is wonderful company. talking birds are so much fun.

I have a new parrot, he is 6 months old, A Sun Conure, he is beautiful, yellow, orange, green and blue...a small parrot, approx. 6 or 7 inches tall from head to end of his tail feathers...I know I couldn't hold a large parrot, he has been great fun...he squawks alot like when he wants more food...like a baby will cry, when they are hungry...I talk to him all the time...First word we are working on is Mama....he squawks the two syllables, and I am sure will say it soon...then I want to teach him "Do I amuse you?" I think that is so funny... Can't wait til he talks, it's like teaching a baby to talk....what else is funny is when I hold him I tell him go poop, so hopefully he won't go on me...and he has done it every time....too funny...of course I want to teach him Hello, and lots of other things....
