the bottom line in this argument lies with the family...if they feel it is right to see the death of steve doing what he loved doing then that would be the case....only they will decide and i hope if they do they charge an arm and a leg for the benefit of the causes steve espoused........i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Omg. No. Animal Planet has already issued a statement saying that it won't be shown,
There was never any question that his death would be show,
Its sick people on here who are asking when its going to be released, Like they expect that they are going to see it, In actual fact they are not, because the tape is being destroyed,

His family declined a state funeral, so what makes you think they
re going to broadcast there husband, son and father dying al around the world..?
If you think that is so, You need a reality check!

Why? Do we need to watch a man die?
Even convicted prisoners who are put to death have the right to some amount of privacy - as it is not broadcast on national or international TV. This man was an entertainer and educator who, like him or not, did a massive amount of educating the public about animals that, for the most part, were not highly marketable as cute.
Let him rest in peace. Let his family have their privacy.

Well, he was filming a National Geographic. I just hope that it was fast and that he didn't suffer. The poison from the barb went directly to his brain due to the direction of blood flow from the heart and because of the kind of wound those barbs produce it did a lot of damage to his heart, but I think he would've stood a better chance of survival had he not pulled it out. I doubt if he thought it was lodged somewhere that important, but I'm sure it was painful until he passed out, which from what I understand was pretty quick. He bled out pretty quickly. How sad. I'll miss his shows. I don't want to watch him die.

No . I don't think it is something that his family should ever have a chance of seeing , even though he once said in an interview that he would want his death video-taped . It would be too much for his children or his loved ones to witness . .

No. Think that part of his career should remain private. I would not want to see that anymore that I would want to see pics of a crash involving a family member splashed about.

I think the real question you need to be asking is should it be shown at all?

No, his death was sad enough, and kids watch those channels, do you really think kids should watch a young man die?
